The Golden Globes is when all the stars come together, from movies to TV, to arrive in style, grace the red carpet, and drink until their too tipsy to accept their award. Later on in the night, they dance (and continue to drink) the night away, party hopping from different network and magazine’s parties, and mingling with all of Hollywood’s elite and newcomers.
This year’s Golden Globe style was definitely a game changer. Stars that usually played in safe with classic and safe looks stepped it up and made lasting impressions. And then there are the stars that you know will always turn heads, like the fashion queen herself, Sarah Jessica Parker. From the rebel looks to the Gucci princesses, here are some of my top Golden Globe fashion picks.
The Cutout Sleeve
How could Nicole Kidman and Sarah Jessica Parker every disappoint us with their red carpet style? These long gowns with cutout sleeves is a look we haven’t seen in a while and thought was long gone, but these fashion favorites brought it back and more glamorous than ever.
Kidman is in Alexander McQueen and Parker is in a Vera Wang Collection dress paired with a beautiful hairstyle that she emulated from her mother’s wedding day look.
Badass in Black
Amy Adams is usually known for her more classic dress choices, but when her Nocturnal Animals director, Tom Ford, offered to make her a custom dress, she couldn’t refuse, I mean, who would? And Kristen Bell, who tends to wear more off-white dresses, changed it up and looked like a total rockstar with her dress’s unique neckline matched with her fawned out hair.
Adams is in Tom Ford and Bell is a Jenny Packham dress.
Everyone wants to feel like a princess (or queen) on the red carpet, and these stars seemed to do just that. Lily Collins looked like a modern fairytale in her gown with the classic updo, all she needed was a YSL tiara and you would think that she just came from a far away land. Emma Stone looked like a star and literally wore stars in her gown paired with the most gorgeous diamond choker. Her dress not only fits the theme of her movie, La La Land, but also now fits her new Golden Globe winner status. Priyanka Chopra, who always kills the red carpet, looked like a royal with her floor-length gold gown matched perfectly with her trademark deep red lips.
Collins is in a Zuhair Murad Couture dress, Stone is in Valentino, and Chopra is in a Ralph Lauren dress (a designer that never fails the Golden Globes red carpet).
What do you think of my favorites? Let me know, and let me know who else you think rocked the red carpet.
